The Sustainable Medicine Manifesto proposes that real medicine must benefit the whole systemour communities, both human and natural. There is no need to separate the processes of healing ourselves, the environment, and our communities.

Didi Pershouse has received a grant from the Anne Slade Frey Charitable Trust to give talks on sustainability and health care in Transition Towns. (Transition Towns are dedicated to building communities that are resilient in the face of dwindling oil supplies, global warming, and economic crises.) Upcoming talks include “Sustainable Medicine: Health Care After Oil” on September 30th (6:30 PM) at Waitsfield Elementary School Waitsfield VT, and “Creating a Healthcare Inventory for Transition Towns” on October 21st (6 PM) at the Hubbard Library in Montpelier, Vermont.
