A child should have his first eye screening between 8-12 months. This should be followed by an exam at age 3 and again before starting kindergarten.
School age children and adults should be examined yearly for changes in vision and eye health.

What is Astigmatism?
Astigmatism is a vision condition in which light entering the eye is unable to be brought to a single focus point. This results in a vision being blurry at all distances. Astigmatism is not a disease, but rather a visual condition that is quite common. It often occurs in conjuction with other refractive errors such as nearsightedness and farsightedness.
