Helen Porter Expands Memory Care Services and Introduces innovative "Namaste" Program More... Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitaition Center has received a grant to expand their Memory Care services and introduce an innovative "Namaste" Care Program.

Porter Medical Center is a non-profit health care system located in Middlebury, Vermont. Porter Medical Center and its subsidiary corporations are organized for the primary purpose of providing medical and long-term care services for residents of a broad service area encompassing Addison County, northern Rutland County, northeastern New York State, students and staff of Middlebury College and visitors to the area.
Our caring and professional staff provide 24-hour emergency services and comprehensive medical care.

Is a charter member of the Vermont Child Care Counts Honor Roll
Has been recognized annually by the Child Care Fund of Vermont for policies which support our employees in securing appropriate child care services
Supports the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Has been awarded annual grants from the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for innovative programs supporting mammography services for area women
Provides annual financial support, rent free clinic space and vouchers for no-cost ancillary services to our local "Open Door Clinic".

Porter Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Services (PROS) Working in collaboration and/or under the direction of our two area orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Rosenberg and Dr. Benz, Porter Hospital offers a coordinated approach to rehabilitation services. Porter Hospital Receives Komen Grant for Cancer Screening Program
Porter Hospital has received a grant of $5,000 from the Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of Porter’s Breast Cancer Screening and Education Program and a new collaborative effort with the Open Door Clinic of Addison County. Smoking Cessation Class If you are ready to quit smoking or quit using spit tobacco or other tobacco products, Porter Hospital invites you to join a series of classes modeled after the American Cancer Society's Freshstart Program. This program uses group structure and interaction to encourage and support positive change, addresses the behaviors, thoughts and feelings of smokers, and presents an active and practical approach to becoming and staying smoke free. Class content creates an awareness of tobacco use as a chemical addiction, a habit and psychological dependency, and includes information on the stages of change theory, weight control and stress management.
