The Inn on Park Street bed and breakfast is easy walking distance to the shops, galleries, and restaurants of Brandon, one of the last unspoiled villages in the Heart of Vermont. The circa 1865 Italianate Second Empire Victorian bed and breakfast has 6 guest rooms making it also ideal for small group getaway weekends in Vermont.
Come and enjoy a getaway in Vermont with a cooking class as part of our Cooking With Chefs at the Inn. Our hands-on cooking classes can be scheduled for weekend or midweek. Or choose a Girlfriend Weekends getaway for a group of women friends looking to have a weekend at a Vermont bed and breakfast.
Located on Route 7 to the west of Vermonts Green Mountains between Middlebury and Rutland, Brandon is a year-round vacation destination offering a convenient hub from which to explore the area. In the village, visit the Briggs Carriage House book store; lunch at the popular bistro Caf Provence; browse the Brandon Artists Guild (the BAG) gallery; or stop at one of several additional galleries right in the village. Home to Warren Kimble for nearly 30 years, Brandon has attracted numerous artists; they present an outdoor art project each summer for the publics enjoyment and annual fund raiser for their art in the schools programs. In 2009 the theme is Starring Brandon The last weekend of January, February, and March they bring us Art in the Snow, with open studios, demos, entertainment, and more. Brandon has become known as the art and soul of Vermont.
The line-up of annual activities in Brandon is quite impressive for a village of under 4000. There is the Chamber auction on the green in July, the town-wide yard sale in August, the summer concert series, a corn festival, leaf people in September, a farmers market on Fridays from May to Columbus day, the Brandon Artists' Guild auction in October, a town players group, and a Christmas concert by the town chorus (its like a page out of Our Town). We also have the largest 4th. of July parade in the state along with an entire day of celebration with music, food, and fireworks, of course.
Vermont offers a constantly changing choice of weekend activities. We are well-known for our ski areas, both downhill and cross country and Brandon is located close to both. But skiing is just the beginning of our outdoor recreation; within 30 minutes of the Inn there is hiking in the Vermont Green Mountain National Forest and Moosalamoo, biking on some of the best routes in the state, the beach at Lake Dunmore, fly-fishing in Furnace Brook, ice-fishing and great snowmobiling, birding, golf right down the road, and hunting-including game dinners at our very own Sportsman Club.
Let Inn on Park Street bed and breakfast help plan a memorable Vermont visit. We can arrange for an antiquing adventure including discounts from area shops, schedule a massage at the Inn, create a dinner menu for a group, book a carriage ride, call for tee times at Neshobe Golf Club, have bike rentals delivered to the door, invite an artist to join you for breakfast, put flowers and candy in your room, and customize a cooking class for a group as small as 3!
